Sometimes it&#8217;s the distance from home and safety that&#8217;s the major plot factor. Other times it&#8217;s the way that young people overcome obstacles which are magnified by limitations on oxygen, gravity, and other resources. Its puzzles, tricks, and traps may become the players&#8217; allies when terrorists hijack the game habitat. <\/p>\n<p>While today&#8217;s LARPers are limited to Earth, you can learn more about classic live action games at <a href=\"http:\/\/larp.com\/\">www.larp.com<\/a> which has gathered info, strategies, and locations for 15 years.<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/-0uNF5Z7HWn4\/T6PA73QRioI\/AAAAAAAAH8s\/-AWlkTduJtA\/s1600\/astronaut%2Bacademy%2Bzero.jpg\" imageanchor=\"1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"cover image of Astronaut Academy Zero Gravity by Dave Roman Published by First Second Books\" border=\"0\" height=\"200\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/-0uNF5Z7HWn4\/T6PA73QRioI\/AAAAAAAAH8s\/-AWlkTduJtA\/s200\/astronaut%2Bacademy%2Bzero.jpg?resize=141%2C200\" title=\"\" width=\"141\"><\/a>School in space sounds like the most fun thing ever, but <a href=\"http:\/\/booksyalove.blogspot.com\/2011\/06\/astronaut-academy-zero-gravity-fiction.html\" target=\"_blank\"><i>Astronaut Academy: Zero Gravity<\/i><\/a> seems perilous to Hakata Soy, who missed the first weeks of school due to his crime-fighting assignment. Learning Spanish (and spying) with Senor Panda, dinosaur racing, &#8211; this graphic novel by Dave Roman brings stories from students and teachers in space.<\/p>\n<p>While many elements of <i>Astronaut Academy<\/i> are over-the-top funny, Roman stays true to the science of space &#8211; human Doug must wear his spacesuit to stay out on the spacewalk all day and oxygen gum helps players stay in the game during fireball tournaments.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/-18IvwU5gHgU\/T6PDfxDOAmI\/AAAAAAAAH84\/52Ge0AgVEK4\/s1600\/acrosstheuniverse-196x300.jpg\" imageanchor=\"1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"cover image of Across the Universe by Beth Revis published by Razorbill\" border=\"0\" height=\"200\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/-18IvwU5gHgU\/T6PDfxDOAmI\/AAAAAAAAH84\/52Ge0AgVEK4\/s200\/acrosstheuniverse-196x300.jpg?resize=130%2C200\" title=\"\" width=\"130\"><\/a>Meanwhile, a spaceship continues on its 300-year voyage to a new planetary system with settlers in cryosleep and a rigid hierarchy of crew members tending to the ship&#8217;s needs. But as they hurtle <a href=\"http:\/\/booksyalove.blogspot.com\/2011\/05\/across-universe-fiction.html\" target=\"_blank\"><i>Across the Universe<\/i><\/a>, someone starts unfreezing settlers and disarming the cryo-alarms. Some die from their botched reawakening, but teenage Amy is saved.<\/p>\n<p>Still many decades from their destination planet, Amy knows that her scientist-expert parents are still Frozen, and Elder of the crew knows that Amy doesn&#8217;t fit into their society.
