A book written by an author of color: several, including Gabi, a Girl in Pieces, by Isabel Quinteros, recommended\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/booksyalove.com\/?p=6084\" target=\"_blank\">recently.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>2. A book with a person of color on the cover: look at Girl in Reverse, by Barbara Stuber\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/booksyalove.com\/?p=4997\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>3. \u00a0A book about coming out: <a href=\"http:\/\/booksyalove.com\/?p=5053\" target=\"_blank\">Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda<\/a> by Becky Albertalli captured Simon&#8217;s conflict about going public so well.<\/p>\n<p>4. A book in which the main character or strong supporting character has a disability: in graphic novel of the same name,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/booksyalove.com\/?p=5947\" target=\"_blank\">Nimona<\/a>\u00a0is sidekick to a guy gone bad because he lost an arm.<\/p>\n<p>5. A book containing bullying: look again at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/booksyalove.com\/?p=6099\" target=\"_blank\">The Disappearance of Emily H.<\/a>\u00a0 by Barrie Summy.<\/p>\n<p>6. Nonfiction or biography about a person of color: beyond the @AudioSYNC free audiobooks that I&#8217;ve recommended this summer, none. \u00a0I don&#8217;t hit biography much on BooksYALove..<\/p>\n<p>All in all, not too bad.
