Book Acceptance Policy:
BooksYALove recommends young adult books and general works which will appeal to young adults, with primary focus on debut authors and smaller publishers. I reserve the right to occasionally recommend a classic book which may not fit these criteria during a themed series of posts.
I write positive recommendations for YA readers, although I hope that these reviews may also be valuable to librarians, teachers, and those selecting books as gifts for teens. I do not review every YA book that I read; if I consider a book as ‘excellent’ or ‘very good’ for its target audience, I may include it on BooksYALove.
I do not guarantee that I will recommend any book – whether requested, unsolicited, borrowed, or bought.
Currently, I am NOT accepting self-published works or any others which are available only in electronic format or only as print-on-demand. I am NOT accepting apps, novelettes, novellas, or short stories. With only a finite amount of time to read and write, I must limit my scope and focus; I will only respond to review requests if I’m interested in the book.
If you paid someone to publish your book or you didn’t use the guidance of a professional editor to complete your book or you are self-publishing in any format or your publishing company only represents one author, please DON’T ask me to review your book.
Timing of blog posts to correspond with book release dates may or may not occur; if a book should not be publicized prior to a certain date and this has not been included in ARC/prepub information, please contact me at katy@BooksYALove.com .
Contest/Giveaway Policy:
Rules for each contest or giveaway will be clearly stated on its starting day blog post, including entry method(s), number of entries accepted per person, geographic limitations for prize mailing, winner selection method, and eligibility criteria. Please do NOT include your mailing address in the comments section! DO stop spammers by using the words DOT and AT in your email address when you enter.
Unless otherwise stated, all contests/giveaways on BooksYALove are open to persons over the age of 13 with United States mailing address, and all closing times for contests/giveaways are Central Time Zone (Standard or Daylight time will be indicated on starting day blog post).
The winner has 10 (ten) days to respond to my notification email with their mailing address. If 10 days have elapsed without communication from the winner, I may select another winner of the contest/giveaway, who will then have 10 days to respond. I reserve the right to terminate a contest/giveaway and declare no winner if the prize becomes unavailable or if the second winner does not respond in a timely manner.
